Airbus S.A.S. and PROSTEP AG Sign International OpenDXM® Licensing Agreement

Darmstadt, February 2006 - Airbus S.A.S., the leading manufacturer of civilian aircraft, and Darmstadt-headquartered PROSTEP AG have lifted their long-standing cooperation in the area of product data communications to a new level. Both companies recently signed an open-ended software licensing agreement that grants Airbus the right to enhance their existing OpenDXM® installation and to implement the data exchange solution throughout the company. The German Airbus locations have been using the PROSTEP software since the end of the nineties to automate, monitor and log their data exchange processes, both for communication with the other Airbus sites and with external development partners and suppliers.

The new licensing agreement not only permits the functional enhancement of the existing installation but also the installation of additional OpenDXM® workstations. This establishes the commercial prerequisites for also implementing OpenDXM® at the other international Airbus S.A.S. locations. The software currently supports approximately 60 different data exchange methods at Airbus in Germany and is also linked to Airbus’s proprietary Internet-based file transfer system.
