MatrixOne Global Customer Conference Sets the Agenda for PLM as the Foundation for Innovation

Industry Leaders Discuss How PLM Solutions Enable Faster Product Introductions, Reduced Product Development Costs and Improved Bottom-Line Profitability
Westford, Mass., May 26, 2005  - MatrixOne, Inc. (NASDAQ: MONEE), a leading provider of collaborative product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions for the value chain , today announced the successful completion of this year's Global Customer Conference (GCC 2005) in Nashville, TN. Throughout the conference, over 40 MatrixOne customers presented their company's PLM case studies to several hundred conference attendees. Many of the sessions focused on how MatrixOne PLM provides a "return on innovation," helping product companies drive top-line revenue growth and bottom-line profitability.

The conference kicked off with an executive panel composed of industry-leaders and MatrixOne customers including, Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products Company, Sony Ericsson and Trane, who all shared their experiences in using MatrixOne's PLM solutions to address their most critical product development challenges-reducing design and development costs, extending design expertise across the enterprise, improving product quality and accelerating time to market.

In addition, in a series of presentations entitled "I'm an Innovator," speakers such as Boeing Australia Ltd., Keppel Corporation, Nortel, Phillips Semiconductor and Schlumberger identified the powerful techniques they have employed in conjunction with MatrixOne's PLM solutions to maximize product development through-out the product lifecycle. Although each company faced its own unique internal challenges and market requirements, each highlighted how MatrixOne provides the ideal product development platform and focused solutions necessary to manage the increasingly complex world of product development.

Bruce Richardson, chief research officer for AMR Research, delivered a keynote presentation entitled, "Welcome to the Innovation Era," discussing 10 bold ideas for the PLM market-and challenging an audience full of manufacturing leaders to focus on new markets for their products, to pursue product differentiation wherever possible and to leverage globalization and the supply chain for real growth opportunities.

In addition, the conference featured a variety of sessions and forums focusing on industries such as aerospace & defense, automotive, consumer products, footwear & apparel, high tech/electronics, machinery/industrial, medical devices and semiconductors. In these sessions and forums MatrixOne customers including Agilent, LSI Logic, New Balance, Possis Medical, Procter & Gamble and many others discussed specific industry challenges and shared their experiences in overcoming them.

During the event, MatrixOne also demonstrated new innovations of its own and launched several new solutions; a focused, rapidly implementable industry specific PLM solution for the apparel industry, called the MatrixOne® Accelerator for Apparel Design and Development™; and a Customer Needs Management solution that integrates Telelogic® DOORS®, the market-leading solution for requirements management, with MatrixOne® Product Central™, its solution for managing a portfolio of products, features and configurations throughout the product lifecycle.
