Agile Integrates to PartMiner Electronics Database Enabling Customers to Streamline Parts Research and Comply with Environmental Regulations

Connectivity Provides Agile’s Customers with Access to Information on Millions of Electronic Components
San Jose, CA - May 12, 2005 - Agile Software Corporation (Nasdaq: AGIL), a leading provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions, today announced that through their agreement with PartMiner, Inc., a leading global supplier of electronic components and intelligence, customers can now gain access to PartMiner materials and parts information across the Agile PLM solution. This connectivity to the PartMiner electronics database enables Agile customers to locate and analyze electronic components before purchasing, thereby streamlining the product procurement process. Access to PartMiner’s database also gives Agile customers the information they need to help ensure their compliance with product design goals, including environmental directives such as the European Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE).

Agile customers can now gain direct access to PartMiner's CAPS™ vendor-neutral database of electronic component information, covering over 39 million part numbers and over 1,900 manufacturers. The database provides Agile's customers with updated information on part lifecycle status and obsolescence risk analysis, alternate part information, lead-free and RoHS compliance, and part documentation from global manufacturers. PartMiner is accessible across the entire Agile PLM solution.

“As a leading provider of business-to-business procurement services to the global electronic components industry, PartMiner is committed to providing engineers and purchasers in the electronics industry with the most up-to-date critical part and product information,” said Jeff Williams, vice president of sales and marketing of PartMiner. “Integration with Agile’s leading PLM solutions provides PartMiner with a great opportunity to help Agile’s global customers manage their product designs while complying with governmental regulations.”

To address the WEEE and RoHS initiatives and other environmental compliance issues facing the electronics industry, PartMiner’s database also includes hazardous material data. This enables buyers and engineers in the electronic component industry to quickly assess hazardous material information and make informed decisions for environmental compliance.

“Agile’s integration with PartMiner comes at an extremely vital time to our customers as they work towards meeting the July 2006 deadline for compliance with WEEE and RoHS directives,” said Chris Wong, Agile chief product officer. “With PartMiner product and material data accessible through Agile PLM, our customers are now able to proactively assess the impact of component obsolescence and streamline new part research and supply risk assessment processes, which are critical for new product introductions and on-going product cost management.”
