Agile Customers Selected as Finalists for Managing Automation’s Progressive Manufacturing Awards

Hitachi Global Storage Technologies, Lucent Technologies, Network Equipment Technologies, Sanmina SCI and ViaSat honored for exemplifying the progressive use of technology to transform manufacturing practices
San Jose, CA - January 21, 2004 – Agile Software Corporation (Nasdaq: AGIL), a leading provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions, today announced that five of its customers— Hitachi Global Storage Technologies, Lucent Technologies , Network Equipment Technologies, Sanmina-SCI Corporation, and ViaSat, Inc.— were selected as finalists within several categories for Managing Automation’s first annual “Progressive Manufacturing Awards.”

Hitachi Global Storage Technologies, a leading disk drive manufacturer, was selected as a finalist in the “Business Model Mastery Award” category. This award will recognize a company that has redefined its business model or has re-engineered significant business processes to achieve a competitive advantage.

Lucent Technologies, which designs and delivers systems, services and software that drive next-generation communications networks, is one of five finalists being considered for the “Progressive Manufacturer of the Year Award.” The recipient of this award will be recognized as a manufacturer who has mastered the technological and business disciplines needed to achieve and sustain a competitive advantage in the global marketplace.

Network Equipment Technologies, Inc., a leading networking company, is a finalist in the “Supply Chain Mastery Award” category. This award will recognize a manufacturer that has improved the operations of their material procurement, production and execution aspects of their supply chains to achieve faster time to market, cost reductions and efficiencies and higher customer satisfaction ratings.

Sanmina SCI, a premier Electronics Contract Manufacturer (EMS), was selected as a finalist for the “Customer Mastery Award.” This award will be given to a manufacturer that has re-thought and re-engineered processes around customer demand and can demonstrate improvements in customer satisfaction ratings as a result.

ViaSat was selected as finalist the in the “ Innovation Mastery Award.” ViaSat is a rapidly growing high-technology company that produces innovative satellite and other wireless communication products that enable fast, easy, and efficient communications to any location. The Innovation Mastery Award will honor a company that has achieved a significant advance or breakthrough in product concept, design, production or ability to deliver to customers.

The Agile customers selected by Managing Automation represent companies that have benefited from the deployment of various Agile PLM solutions to enhance their business practices.
