PTC (Nasdaq: PMTC), the product development company, today announced it has received a new $1 million order for consulting and education services from the U.S. Department of Energy's Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). The order was received from LLNL during PTC's second fiscal quarter (ended March 29, 2003) and the services are scheduled to be provided over a period of time ending in PTC's first 2004 fiscal quarter (ending December 31, 2003). LLNL, a PTC customer since 1991, uses PTC product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions for many projects, including the National Ignition Facility (NIF), a mammoth 192-beam laser facility focusing on research in national security, energy and basic science. NIF contains 33,000 square feet of precision optics and more than 22,000 small optical components.
