EDS today announced UTS, the engineering business unit of the Comau Group, has selected EDS as its corporate standard for product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services.
UTS specializes in complete product and process design for the Comau Group, Europe’s “total” supplier of automation systems for the automotive industry. The unit invested more than $2.8 million in 2002 for EDS software and services, including more than 300 seats of Teamcenter Engineering, part of EDS’ integrated Teamcenter suite of PLM software; and more than 100 seats of Unigraphics NX, EDS’ world-class computer-aided design, manufacturing and engineering analysis (CAD/CAM/CAE) software.

The Australian Department of Defence will soon be using product life-cycle management software developed by leading global services company, EDS, to monitor and manage the configuration of Navy ships during their operational service life.
EDS’ Teamcenter Aerospace and Defense software will be used to identify, control and report on the configured parts of a Navy ship -- from the smallest repairable unit to the most complex systems. The information can then be used to effectively manage the lifecycle of the ship using EDS’ Teamcenter product data management capabilities, including workflow and document management.

EDS today announced the German company WINDMÖLLER & HÖLSCHER (W&H) has placed an order for 170 seats of Unigraphics NX software, 170 seats of Teamcenter Engineering software and comprehensive consulting services. Financial terms were not disclosed. W&H is an international market leader in machinery and equipment for flexible packaging.
The decision followed a four-month test phase between Unigraphics NX, EDS’ world-class computer-aided design, manufacturing and engineering analysis (CAD/CAM/CAE) software, and two competitive systems. W&H selected the EDS solution due to its functional superiority and clear data migration concept in addition to a high level of confidence in EDS and its people. W&H also selected Teamcenter Engineering, part of EDS’ Teamcenter suite of integrated PLM software, due to its open solutions approach to product data management, which allows a close integration with W&H’s existing business software environment.
