Press reports Juli 2000 deal with EDM/PDM
Paris (France) and Seattle, Washington (USA), July 25, 2000 -
IBM and Dassault Systemes (NASDAQ: DASTY), in conjunction with Boeing Corporation, announced today they are deploying an e-business product development solution that gives the aircraft manufacturer a first-strike advantage in its efforts to win the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) contract.
The initial project began twelve months ago, and includes the implementation of new IBM servers, workstations and DB2 Universal Database, along with CATIA computer-aided design solutions and ENOVIA product lifecycle management solutions from Dassault Systemes. The consulting and implementation portion of the project was conducted simultaneously, and included training for Boeing designers, engineers and manufacturing personnel.

SDRC (Nasdaq: SDRC), a global supplier of e-business collaboration solutions for the product lifecycle, today announced that Seagate Technology, Inc. (NYSE:SEG), the world's leading disc drive supplier, has placed an additional $1 million in orders of I-DEAS® software and services. Seagate, located in Scotts Valley, California, has standardized on I-DEAS in its design centers, allowing Seagate to "Design Anywhere, and Build Anywhere."
In January, Seagate announced a plan to utilize its software to maintain a competitive excellence in the disc drive market. As part of this program, Seagate standardized on SDRC's Metaphaseâ and I-DEAS software products and SDRC ExperTeamSM services. These orders were valued at more than $3.5 million.

CargoLifter, headquartered in Berlin, Germany, develops, builds, and operates the world's first heavy-payload airships. The software was shipped to CargoLifter during PTC's second fiscal quarter (ended April 1, 2000).

Toulouse and Suresnes (France), July 20, 2000 -
Airbus Industrie, IBM and Dassault Systemes (NASDAQ : DASTY) today announced that Airbus has signed a memorandum of agreement by which Airbus intends to purchase Dassault Systemes and IBM CATIA and ENOVIAVPM, as major software for Aircraft development and manufacturing within Airbus.
Pursuant to this initial seven-year agreement, over 2500 seats will be deployed within Airbus to support the development of the A3XX. CATIA will be used for the product creation and simulation. ENOVIAVPM will be used to provide an integrated design through manufacturing solution and to establish the link with the PDM system used by Airbus. As far as digital factory software is concerned, Airbus is also considering the use of DELMIA software.
